  • Chrismas Luncheon! As a thank-you for the continued support of our members, we are hosting a luncheon on December 9, 2014. This luncheon will be free to all members under the following criteria:

    1. Firms with a membership up to five CA's will be allowed a MAXIMUM of five attendees; Firms with a membership of six or more CA's will be allowed a MAXIMUM of ten attendees.

    2. Booked no shows will be invoiced at $35.

    3. Your membership MUST be paid current for the 2014-2015 year.

“Recent Developments and Updates in GST/HST”.

 

David Reiner, Grant Thornton

 

For the past 15 years, David Reiner has been in public practice accounting, exclusively in the area of sales tax, and currently heads up Grant Thornton’s sales tax practice in Edmonton.  His diverse client base ranges from national retailers and oilfield servicing companies to financial institutions and vehicle dealerships.  He is a member of Grant Thornton’s “Charities and Non-Profit Organization” sector focus group, providing sales tax support to clients in that area such as public and private schools, colleges, municipalities and registered charities. 

 

David has been an instructor for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta since 2009, and has made presentations to the Canadian Tax Foundation, local bar associations and industry groups, as well as at provincial and national conferences, including the CPA Canada Commodity Tax Symposium.
