 Thomas B. Devaney, FCA, Director of Video News Inc., consults with accountants and lawyers on tax matters as well as prepares monthly tax update DVDs, CDs, and newsletters for accountants, lawyers and other professionals.

Mr. Devaney has lectured for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta, the Society of Management Accountants, the Certified General Accountants, and for the Universities of Alberta, Calgary and McGill as well as for the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Mr. Devaney is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta's Taxation Committee and is a past member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta's Goods and Services Tax SubCommittee.

Mr. Devaney has practiced exclusively in the area of taxation since 1974.

 

Joe R. Devaney, C.A.,  VP Education & Development of Video Tax News Inc., has been providing technical and consultation support on corporate and personal tax matters since 2007. Published by the Canadian Tax Foundation for two co-authored articles “Americans in Canada”, Joe’s practical U.S. experience includes compliance and consultation for Americans living in Canada, U.S. non-residents, and Canadian snowbirds. On the Canadian side, Joe has provided tax compliance and planning for both international and local firms.

Joe has been involved with various Video Tax News Publications and has been a full time instructor with Video Tax News since 2012. He has also provided and presented technical tax research, writing and teaching for a variety of other organizations.      Joe currently sits on the board of directors as the treasurer for Edmonton Fringe Theatre Adventures and the steering committee of the Edmonton Young Tax Practitioners Group.  

Joe worked on a European Union project in Peru teaching management and development courses to new leaders of non-profit organizations (in Spanish).
